North Carolina ranked 36th in the natiohn for foreclosure filingslast month. Foreclosure filings in the statde fellnearly 16.1 percentg in May from April. Acrossx the country, foreclosure filings rose 18 percent in May from ayear ago. Therre were 321,480 foreclosure filings nationwide, which affectesd one in every 398 U.S. Nevada, California and Florida postes the top foreclosure rateslast month. Filingsz nationwide fell 6 percent in Mayfrom Irvine, Calif.-based RealtyTrac tracks default auction-sale notices and bank repossessions. Its figures exceedf those compiled bythe N.C.
