Fred Weber wins $4M Mississippi River Bridge contract - Jacksonville Business Journal:

awarded Fred Weber a $4.44 millionm contract Wednesday to removde and replace the Madisonn Streetand St. Louis Avenue bridges over Interstate 70 indowntown St. Louis. The majority of work on this project will stary afterHighway 40/Interstate 64 reopens between Kingshighway and Interstate 170. Crews will remove the St. Louis Avenuew bridge first and then removd and replace the Madison Street bridge. During work to remove the MadisohStreet bridge, crews will also remove the Cass Avenue bridge in preparation for replacing that bridgew later in 2010.
This work is part of preliminaruy work on a new Mississippiriver bridge, which is expectex to reduce congestion on the Poplar Street Maryland Heights, Mo.-based Fred Weber is one of the largestt privately held companies in St. Louis with $353.3 milliohn in revenue in 2008. The commercial construction firm is also workingf onthe $245 million reconstruction of AmerenUE’s Taum Sauk Reservoir in Johnson’ Shut-Ins state park and is part of Gatewah Constructors, the consortium of contractors performinyg $535 million worth of improvements on Highwat 40/Interstate 64.
